Boiler Water Chemical

Boiler Water Chemical

Boiler Water Treatment Chemicals are specialized formulations used to prevent scale, corrosion, and carryover in steam boilers. These chemicals ensure efficient heat transfer, reduce downtime, and prolong the life of the boiler.

Common Types:

1. Oxygen Scavengers

Remove dissolved oxygen to prevent corrosion.

Common types: Sodium sulfite, hydrazine, DEHA (diethylhydroxylamine), carbohydrazide.

2. Scale Inhibitors / Antiscalants

Prevent deposition of calcium, magnesium, and other salts.

Includes phosphates, polymers, and chelating agents.

3. Alkalinity Builders

Maintain proper pH and alkalinity to prevent corrosion and scale.

Chemicals: Sodium hydroxide (caustic soda), sodium carbonate.

4. Condensate Line Corrosion Inhibitors

Protect steam and condensate lines from acid attack (CO₂ corrosion).

Includes neutralizing amines (e.g., morpholine, cyclohexylamine) and filming amines.

5. Dispersants / Sludge Conditioners

Prevent settling of precipitated solids and keep them in suspension.

Help in blowdown removal.

6. pH Adjusters

Maintain boiler water within the recommended pH range to reduce corrosion and scale formation.
